In 1937, Napoleon Hill suggested a way to make money from knowledge in his infamous book “Think & Grow Rich”. He observed that:

“KNOWLEDGE will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed.”

More than 70 years later, Google would use the above principle to become a company worth $550 billion.

Google’s mission is to:

“Organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

In the section on using knowledge, Hill makes the following suggestions:

  1. Super-successful entrepreneurs become good at acquiring knowledge when she needs it, and organizing that knowledge into definite plans of action.
  2. It is best for entrepreneurs to hire experts as a means of acquiring knowledge.
  3. Entrepreneurs should instead focus their efforts on organizing the expert’s knowledge into actions.
